28 year old Paul Gawking from Glasgow sustained his spinal cord injury just over a year before he attended the Inter Spinal Unit Games. He took part in a variety of activities at the Games including boccia, table tennis, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair curling.

When asked on his thoughts of the event  Paul told us “It’s brilliant, it brings hundreds of people together and just shows you what you can do rather than what you can’t. There’s a lot of opportunities you can take part.”

Paul goes on to say everyone is friendly at the Games “I talked to anybody who would talk to me and it was good to share stories and get to know everybody”.

Paul was part of the Glasgow team who finished in third place behind first time winners Stanmore.
