At 19, Issy was involved in a car accident which led to her being in a 5-day coma, and was left with a damaged spine, broken back, liver, ribs and loosing the use of her legs and her left hand.
Issy spent seven months in hospital before being transferred to Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Issy was introduced to wheelchair sport through weekly sessions with WheelPower Physical Activity Advisors and also attended the 2014 Inter Spinal Unit Games. She found that shooting was her favourite and best sport and joined the GB squad in 2014, and appeared at the 2016 Rio games as a wildcard entry.
She has had success across the world with Paris being her third consecutive Paralympic Games. Issy is the sole member of the team competing in the pistol events.
