Ben was born with no right leg and a hole in his heart, leading to Ben finding amputee football as a youngster. Ben would go on to make a 2-hour journey to play in some wheelchair basketball sessions after a chance meeting with Sinclair Thomas. Ben fell quickly in love with the sport and began playing with Wolverhampton Rhinos in both their junior and Division 3 teams.

He would then go on to join the GB pathway as a junior ad play his first GB cap in the U23 world championships in 2013.

Ben attended multiple WheelPower National Junior Games and Junior Sports Camps at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in the 2010’s.

Ben made his debut appearance for GB’s senior team at the 2019 European Championships in Poland, winning European gold, despite undergoing major heart surgery in the build up to the competition. Ben was part of the GB Men’s team that achieved silver at the 2022 World Championships.

Ben is part of the GB Men’s Wheelchair Basketball team in Paris, playing an important role in taking them to the final on Saturday.
