Jason has supported WheelPower in many ways over the last ten years. He has ridden the Tour de Vale multiple times, took part in a Santa Dash, organised a 2.6 challenge with his local football team and even hosted the Virtual Bingo evening for the charity in 2020. We are extremely grateful to Jason and his family for the ongoing support they have given to the charity and hope that his story inspires others to take on a charity challenge for WheelPower in 2021.
!I’ve been supporting WheelPower since 2013 when I took part in my first Tour de Vale; my family and I also took part in the Santa Dash around Aylesbury town centre that year, and we’ve not looked back since!
The Tour de Vale is the charities biggest fundraiser of the year. Organised by WheelPower, the Tour de Vale Bike Ride has raised over £800,000 which have transformed the lives of thousands of disabled children and newly injured adults. Since it began in 2003 the Tour de Vale has become a key date in the Buckinghamshire events calendar and brings together local organisations and members of the community for a charity bike ride like no other. WheelPower relies on the tremendous support of fundraisers just like Jason and every penny that they raise along the way makes a real difference to the lives of disabled people across the UK.
Jason has supported this event both as participant but also as an organiser, bringing together teams of colleagues and club members to set themselves a cycling challenge and take on ride through the Aylesbury Vale.
“I have organised Tour de Vale teams for my employer, Epson, and my daughters’ football club, Aylesbury United Ladies & Girls. One year I even dressed as the Aylesbury Duck when riding with the football club and was very proud when we were the top fundraising team in 2016, 2017 and 2018, raising £4,445 in total.”
Jason continues to go above and beyond for WheelPower and continues to strive for new challenges year after year.
