Dave started raising money by organising quizzes for his members at St Crispin’s Leisure Centre in 2009. Seeing WheelPower’s work inspired Dave to take part in his first London Marathon the same year. Since then, Dave has taken part in many personal challenges including Iron Man Wales, John O’Groats to Lands End Bike Ride, Ride London and the Mont Blanc Cycle Challenge.
Dave has also been the driving force behind many group fundraising events over the years including London – Bournemouth Cycle challenge, 100k walks as well as various member challenges at St Crispin’s.
Over the years, Dave has raised in excess of £30,000 for WheelPower, an amazing contribution. This has certainly been down to Dave’s enthusiasm, passion and determination. He takes time to visit our sports events to see first-hand where the funds he has raised helps WheelPower continue their vital work.
In 2024 Dave coached and took part in Dexter’s Woodley, Reading to Paris Cycle Ride which raised over £12,000 for WheelPower and two other charities.
