The countdown has begun for one of the most anticipated inclusive events in the city’s sporting calendar.

The 2025 WheelPower Sports Festival will take place at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield on 30 January, offering an inspiring day of inclusive sports and activities for disabled people of all ages and abilities.

WheelPower, the national charity for wheelchair sport, is proud to organise this vibrant festival. The event will feature a wide range of activities designed to encourage participation and build confidence.  We are very pleased to announce that coaches from para-ice hockey club the Sheffield Steelkings and local wheelchair basketball club the Sheffield Steelers will be joining us. GB Archery will be hosting a beginner’s session.  Participants will also be able to try wheelchair badminton and table tennis.

A Festival for All

This free-to-attend Sport Festival is open to individuals with physical disabilities, their families, friends and supporters. No prior experience is necessary and equipment will be provided to ensure participants can fully immerse themselves in the day’s activities. Trained coaches and volunteers will be on hand to offer guidance, support, and encouragement.

Join Us in Celebrating the Spirit of Sport

WheelPower Chief Executive, Martin McElhatton, said: “The 2025 WheelPower Sports Festival is more than just a day of sport; it’s a celebration of community, resilience, and opportunity.
